Air Travel and Autism

As somebody with autism, there are definite limitations in my life, but that doesn't mean that I can't live a rich and full life. I think this is true for everyone with ASD, and it's the reason I wanted to focus on travel. There are definitely ways for people diagnosed with autism to travel and enjoy it too. For example, many travel destinations now have a sensory room. If you are traveling to a new location and you do not know if there is a sensory room available, you can check the local tourist organization's or area Chamber of Commerce's website. It is a big world out there, and I'm sure there are lots of other possibilities and opportunities for Autistic people to travel. I encourage you to explore your options and find the ones that work best for you. There are a lot of other great locations for a sensory room in your travel destination too. You could look into things like local parks, malls, and airports. The biggest thing is being honest with yourself about your needs and your abilities, and planning accordingly.
