Autism and Trains

If there’s something I, as someone with autism, can appreciate, it’s traveling to see some familiar places or discovering somewhere new. This is something I’ve been working on for the last few months. If you can fixate on one thing, I can fixate on traveling and being on the trains. My favorite things to ride on, if they are available, are trains. So the train is one of my favorite sensory things for me. That’s why I love Amtrak as a transportation option to travel by. For me, traveling by train, I can relax and not worry about traffic. It is so easy to use the Amtrak system. There is a ticket agent at the ticket window to help me. It is a big world out there, and I'm sure there are lots of other possibilities and opportunities for Autistic people to travel. I encourage you to explore your options and find the ones that work best for you. There are a lot of other great locations for a sensory room in your travel destination too. You could look into things like local parks, malls, and airports. The biggest thing is being honest with yourself ab...

Sensory Garden Research

I wanted to share this with the family that has family members that have autism. I wanted to share some sensory garden research with the autism community about gardening. For people like me that have Autism in the community. I found out some interesting things about sensory gardening and wanted to create a post about it with links. The research I have been doing on sensory gardens has been fascinating, and I thought it would be useful to you as well. Sensory gardens are designed with a variety of elements that appeal to different senses, including sight, touch, hearing, smell, and taste. Sensory gardening is a great way for the autism community to explore and enjoy the beauty of the natural world. It has also been found to help with social, cognitive, and emotional development, which can help individuals with autism. Please See the Links for Autism and Sensory Gardening down below for more detail: Here are some links for some more info on Sensory Gardening: - DuckGoGo - Sensory Garden ...
